| | | | At this month’s meeting, we will have Doug Burgdorf of Adaptive Corporation and Derek Neiding of Razorleaf Corporation as guests to deliver a session entitled “Automating Business Processes with SharePoint Workflow and ShareVis”. During this session, Doug and Derek will discuss the business value of deploying a SharePoint – ShareVis solution for improving business process and workflow. This presentation will illustrate how a mid-size customer achieved a significant time and cost savings for their organization by deploying the ShareVis solution on the SharePoint platform. In addition to outlining this business case, a technical presentation and demo on the ShareVis solution showing a complex workflow requirement will be given to illustrate what capabilities are supported natively by SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010, and what gaps a third-party solution like ShareVis can fill. | |

Did you know that one of the new enterprise features being introduced in SharePoint Server 2010 is Visio Services? Visio Services, similar to Excel Services in MOSS 2007, enables the publishing of Visio documents to a web page, enabling them to be viewed without the user needing the Visio client or a Visio viewer plug-in. This is accomplished using a new Visio Web Access web part, which enables basic navigation and exploration of a Visio diagram by end users, including the ability to have data linked to the diagram from external sources to be refreshed directly from within the web part itself. |

The Pittsburgh Area SharePoint Users Group is dedicated to providing educational and informational resources for Microsoft SharePoint technologies and related products. Its purpose is to bring the local SharePoint community together to network and to share tips, tricks and ideas on SharePoint technologies, as well as to provide a forum for people involved with SharePoint. The target audience for this users group includes developers, designers, administrators, and power users. The technologies involved include SharePoint Server 2010, SharePoint Foundation 2010, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer, and SharePoint Workspace 2010.
