| Did You Know? | Did you know that for SharePoint 2010, Microsoft has introduced a new method for development of custom web parts? Visual web parts, a new development artifact type that can be created in Visual Studio 2010, enable developers to finally leverage a visual design surface for building custom web parts. This new approach is similar to that offered in the past by the SmartPart that Jan Tielens developed, where a web user control (ASCX file) is leveraged in place of an ASP.NET server control. With SharePoint 2010, this approach can be taken without the need for a third-party add-on, and should enable more rapid development of custom web part solutions. |
